Western Digital PC Fair & Apple Questions
ITFusion was invited to participate in a mini PC Fair now at Western Digital as the sole Apple reseller. So now it’s me and Frost at the booth and Moorey alone at the shop (well, Ola too cuz she have to follow me go to work early in the morning haha).

Western Digital is the world’s second biggest hard drive company after Seagate. They bought over Komag, a hard drive platter factory, and restructure it into a full hard drive manufacturing plant (Moorey 2008
). Yes, not unlike your tikar mengkuang or kuih lapis, those WD hard drives in your computers come from Kuching. In fact, your processors as well.

Oh, the PC Fair? Boring hahaha. We had to be there from 9am to 2pm and there’s no internet. No hot chicks too. Lots of explaining and demoing, and hearing people say “Wahh!” then “Ish so expensive meh!”. Here’s a list of questions we get over and over, and how you should answer them, in case your friends ask you:

Good questions:
Q: How come the white MacBook (high-end) and black one, d price difference so far meh? Only bigger hard drive and diff colour wut?
A: If you’re not buying, why do you care? If the price different is too big for you, get the white one la.Q: Why iPod touch so expensive leh? Better buy handphone lor.
A: Chances are you already have a phone. What you don’t have is a full-fledged mobile internet browser and an excellent media player. And if you’re complaining about the touch’s price, you won’t be able to afford an iPhone anyway.Q: If I use Mac, how to use Windows programs?
A: A lot of programs including Office or Photoshop have their own Mac version, which sometimes run even faster than their Windows counterpart. If your program doesn’t have a Mac version, you can always install Windows(es) on it, or even Linux(es) and running multiple OSes side-by-side at the same time.Q: Why are notebooks from other brands, with the same specs, cheaper?
A: Other notebooks slow down, and after 2-3 years you’ll wanna buy a new notebook when reformatting doesn’t help anymore and you can’t use the new softwares and operating systems. With a Mac, you’re looking at a lifespan about 4-7 years. It doesn’t slow down, and even 5-year-old Macs are able to run the latest OS smoothly.
Stupid questions:
Q: Is my mouse / keyboard / flash drive / external hard disk compatible?
A: Of course lo. USB = Universal Serial Bus.Q: Oh Apple don’t use Windows ah?
A: Fuck you, dumb shit. Apple develops their own operating system.Q: Ini iMac ini TV ka? Ada Astro?
A: Lu bodo ka? Hah?! Jawab saya, lu BODO ka?
Well this didn’t occur to me but, Bonus Stupid Answer:
Q: (At Pavilion) Where’s the new Apple store?
A: I don’t know, but I think they sell fruits at Sungei Wang.
LOL
By the way, me and Frost had to wear these foolish shoe covers (initially we thought they were shower caps) for the PC Fair. Boy, do we look like morons.
