Jailbreaking iPod touch with Pwnage 2.0
The iPhone Dev Team just released their much-anticipated Pwnage 2.0, a software to unlock or jailbreak iPhones and iPod touches. Pwnage 2.0 is released just 10 hours ago and supports the new 2.0 firmware
As revealed in my screenshot above (still remember how to do that?), this jailbreak still enables access to the iTunes App Store and adds the new Cydia, which I assume is the replacement for Installer.app. About Cydia? Very sluggish performance, I’m afraid
And not much apps either. I guess you need to do a lot of searching and adding of repositories. Until Cydia gets more mature, I don’t see any benefits of jailbreaking the 2.0.
As for the software itself, Pwnage 2.0 is the easiest way to jailbreak and iPod touch now. You still need to find and download the 2.0 firmware though. The instructions are clearly stated together with illustrations on what you have to do
The links and mirrors on the iPhone Dev Team blog is having a lot of traffic at the moment, so this was where I got the app. Happy jailbreaking!
