Razer Moray Quickie Review
I was actually looking for a good in-ear headphones (you might call them earphones) as an easier-to-bring companion for my iPod. Yeah, my Sennheiser PX100 is already a very portable supra-aural itself but it’s not something that I can just shove into my front pocket.
The thing is, I was aiming for the Shure SE102. Went to the Mac + iPod Discovery Week at Midvalley today with my girl and the Shure was selling for just RM199 (normal price is RM200+). Tempting
. But then in my opinion, the SE102 still doesn’t beat the sound quality of my trusty Senn, so I decided to get a ‘just decent’ in-ear instead of opting for the ‘best’ (for me, in the price range of course). So I turned to the Razer Moray.

Tested it out at Machines KLCC (wah last time punya susah wanna ask permission to test out headphones, now okay only) and my verdict was, well, worse than the aforementioned Shure and Senn, but quite good for the price. It had a tag of RM135 and the only competitor I can think of around that price would be the Belkin TuneBuds, which, IMHO, hisap bebola. To the counter!

Included along with the headphones are 2 pairs of smaller and bigger fits (luckily one was missing from this photo, or else I wouldn’t have noticed it dropped out), an airplane adapter…

…a sweet pouch, a pair of the Razer logo stickers, quick start guide and a certificate of authenticity. Yeah, even though I’m the ‘Mac type’, I still opted for the black one instead of white
. So for the sound, again, it wont beat the RM199 (until July 5th!) Shure SE102 nor the RM360 Sennheiser CX300 (should be RM200+ but everywhere I see is around RM360…dunno why), but at a price of RM135 I think it’s reasonable. Hell, I might even pay half of that just for the pouch haha
. The cord is smooth and doesn’t get bent out of shape easily, a feature normally found on pricier headphones.

My only gripe is that my iPod doesn’t fit in the pouch so there’s plenty of room for nothing. Any ideas?
