Sony Ericsson J132 MEGA REVIEW

With all the iPhones, BlackBerries and smartphones currently dominating headlines in the mobile phone industry, there was a phone released in 2009 that nobody noticed had already blown the competition into tiny, decaying bits.

That phone is the Sony Ericsson J132. This is a review of this powerful piece of hardware.

I’ll go thru its features one by one. First, look at it. That seemingly plastic exterior is actually made from carbon fiber to ensure durability. Its elegant black finish makes it a perfect match even for world leaders in search of a versatile phone that compliments their style.

The front of the phone sports a Full HD 1.5-inch multi-touch screen with oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprint smudges. As you can see, the phone also runs Android but it gives you an option to dual boot with iPhone OSX so you do not have to part with your collection of fart apps.

Android poWAH

Moving on to general performance, this phone is certainly no joke. Under the hood is an Intel Atom 1.6 GHz coupled with the Nvidia GeForce 9400M to deliver true gaming performance. Three games are included by default, namely Crysis, The Sims 3 and 5-level preview of the upcoming StarCraft 2. COOL.

Sims 3 on the go!

Let’s take a look at the camera. When activating the camera function, the Leica lens will automagically emerge from the phone’s body as in the picture below.

Too cool for logical physics

The lens has built-in image stabilization and AF motor. Here are some of my test shots with this awesome cameraphone:

That was shot at the wide angle setting. Notice the stunning low light performance, this easily beats any other cameraphone on the market. But wait till you witness the amazing telephoto zoom, shot from the same location as above.

PWHOAR!

Head on to GSM Arena for the complete specs of this monsterphone. It only retails around RM120 or so. If this doesn’t interest you, keep an eye out for the just-announced Xperia L-HC due out Q2 2010 that features a 12.1 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and integrated particle accelerator.
